Thanks very much for answering all my questions! :-)
As far as Lucky Surf is concerned, I'm sorry that I don't know. I haven't played it for awhile.
May I ask: What are "gc's".
I believe that their click-on ads are sign-ups still, but I don't know for sure.
I used to sign up, then cancel my membership immediately, as there was an option on the site to do so.
By the way, do you think that Publishers Clearning House (PCH) is legitimate?Oh.....I still have one more question ; it concerns the sweepstakes.
If you don't play EZsweeps, how do you find sweeps to play?
Thanks very much again! :-)
Yours sincerely,

Marti :-)

GC's = Gift Certificates. There's two basic types, "real" gift certificates that can be added together until you have enough to get something free or very cheaply, and "promotional" gift certificates, which are only for example $5 off an order and can't be accumulated (tho ONE can usually be used with real gift certificates). The ones I was denigrating were the Half.com certificates: "$5 off your first order (new customers only)" - but they do that for everybody (or at least did) so what's the point?
Unless somebody give me an answer otherwise on Luckysurf then I guess I'll forget about that one (sign-ups are sometimes impossible or nearly impossible to cancel - not worth it for one ticket with bad odds).
Publisher's Clearinghouse is legit, yes - VERY legit. They may lean to the sleazy side as far as suckering you into signing up for "offers from our partners" or something like that but they won;t fake draws, if you win their lottery you really win. They're a big enough company and have been around long enough I doubt they even have lottery insurance (they really don't need it).
I think you asked about Reader's Digest too - yes, completely legit, tho the same warning about reading what boxes are checked applies, and it's easy to sign up for a subscription when you don;t want one. And since half the planet participates in their contests, the odds are really, really bad (bad enough I don;t bother with the hassle of them - reading their form every day in case it's changed from yesterday for the next 9 months doesn;t appeal to me).

Hopefully Spud doesn't mind mentioning other sites (not a competitor anyway):

The best site I know of for finding new sweeps to enter is http://www.online-sweepstakes.com. They have a paid membership but you get 90% of the sweeps without paying anyway (top left, "New Sweepstakes" added every day). Go ahead and register, that part is free - you need to be logged in to read notes about sweeps (like "these guys will spam you to death" kind of things). You don;t HAVE to register, but I'd recommend it (like I said, registration is free).Go to Top of Page

Thanks so much for all the information! :-)
I just bookmarked the online sweepstakes site and registered, and, as you say, 90% of the sweepskakes are free to participte in.
I suppose that the ones that aren't free have some notice to that effect.....
Yours sincerely,

I see you posted at OLS asking about EZ Sweeps. About what I expected, most people saying spam city, a couple winning "jewelry" or Vegas "vacations" (which were most likely time-share promos).Go to Top of Page

Hi! Do you have to be concerned with Spyware Protection on EZsweeps too?
Yes; I did post there, but when I last checked, there wasn't any answer yet, but I'll check again.
If you do EZsweeps, do you think that most individual sweeps wlll disqualify your entree if you enter the sweep through EZsweeps?
Thanks very much! -)

Hi Mozart,

First of all let me say that there is no "Protection" from Spyware/Adware unless you do like jaybat says and turn your PC off and never turn it on again. You are subject to get it from any site that you visit. All you can do is constantly clean your system with the programs that have been suggested here. I do mine at least once a day. Or ignore it and eventually it will freeze up your system. Not recommended. lol It is an annoyance but unfortunately one that is not going to go away anytime soon. I had one that ate up 18 gigs of memory in just a matter of a few hours, but I think that was a Trojan or a Virus. I'm not sure which.

As far as EzSweeps is concerned I have never had a problem that I know of. Unless you want to consider that I have more than 59,000 entries over the last 5 years and have never won anything. lol

Freelotto, aka Plasmanet, is a scam! If you are ever lucky enough to win one of their games, you will not receive your prize. They will stall in hopes that you will forget about your prize. If you don't forget, they will respond to your inquiries with standard replies like: "we're sorry but you did not file your claim within 30 days" or "we're sorry but that is not a valid TSN Number" or "we're sorry but you must comply with our game play rules" or "we're sorry but there is no record of your winning play."

I know this for a fact for I have experienced it with a $300 win from January 21, 2004. I complied with all rules, to the letter, and even though I had the winner's affidavit delivered to them with confirmed delivery, they deny receiving it! After they found that I had a record of delivery they proceeded to use the above listed excuses to avoid payment. All this to avoid paying $300. And they want you to believe that you could win up to 10 million dollars! What a joke! You might be lucky enough to win the drawing but I guarantee you will never receive a single dime of your winnings.

I'm sure there are thousands of people around the country who have been scammed just as I have. Well, enough is enough! It's time for a class-action lawsuit to put this bunch of lying thieves in their place! They operate on advertising revenue, which based on the amount of spam they send out, should be substantial. So, a lawfirm that wants to get a piece of the pie and help put a stop to this scam should get behind us. There's no way to lose the case. THe only question would be what kind of assets do they have that can be liquidated to pay the court judgement against them.

Any interested parties should contact me so we can get going on this!

I PERSONALLY CONTINUE TO GO TO THEIR WEB SITE (FREELOTTO) AND I CLICK ON THEIR SPONSORS LINKS AND WRITE TO EACH ONE OF THE SPONSORS LETTING THEM KNOW THEY ARE BEING ADVERTISED ON A SCAM WEB SITE. AT THE BOTTOM OF THEIR HOME PAGE THERE IS ALSO A LINK CALLED "SPONSORS" AND I WROTE TO TWO OF THEM AND ACTUALLY GOT A RESPONSE FROM ONE GUY AT ONE OF THE COMPANIES WHO TOLD ME HIS COMPANY HELPED FREELOTTO WRITE THEIR WEB SITE PROGRAM MANY YEARS AGO BUT ARE NOT DOING BUSINESS WITH THEM ANYMORE BUT HE WOULD LOOK INTO WHY FREELOTTO ADVERTISES THEM AS A PARTNER. EVENTUALLY IF ENOUGH OF US WRITE TO THEIR SPONSOR LINKS, THEY WILL BEGIN TO LOSE REVENUE CAUSING THEM TO SHUT DOWN THEIR DAMN WEBSITE.
I AM ALSO TELLING THEIR ADVERTISERS NOT TO PUT ME ON THEIR MAILING LIST BECAUSE I DID NOT WANT TO GET MAIL FROM COMPANIES ADVERTISING ON SCAM WEB SITES.
THIS MIGHT SHAKE THEM UP A BIT. I WILL CUT AND PASTE (BUT KEEP PRIVATE) THE ABOVE MESSAGE AND SEND IT TO TODAY'S SPONSORS.

Mazil,

First, read this entire thread. All of the info we have is here. Did you call the police? Or/and, your state's Attourney General? We know freelotto.com is a complete scam in many ways, and therefore they make it hard for anybody to contact them. Can the bank give you information? Any amount stolen sucks, but I hope they got you for just a few tens of dollars and not more.

Mazil,
You can also call Kevin Aronin at home. He is the Chairman and CEO of PlasmaNet Inc., owner of Freelotto.com.
Maybe he has an answer machine

The easiest solution is to stop payment the automatic withdrawals. Call your bank and tell them that you no longer authorize any debits from that person or company. Give them the reason that they are scamming you and cannot be reached.
