Perhaps you are one of the millions who have signed up in the past to play at freelotto.com or one of their affiliated companies. Through your sign-up process you are required to supply all your personal information should you happen to win a prize.Based upon the fact that they are continuing to operate this scam, it would not surprise me that they are buying all kinds of information from many places. I have one domain that I operate which I use for signing up on various sites. Each time I sign up, I use a different prefix to the domain name, ie. lottalottos@abc.com - this way I know who sold my data if I start to receive a bunch of junk. Anyways, here's another interesting post about this whole freelotto.com scam thing. http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=329480 It's nice to see Google thinks we have a good thing going here... Hi! :) I signed up to play "Free Lotto" some time ago too, and I had regarded it as probably the most legitimate and reliable free lotto out there. In the past, I sometimes won $1.00 by getting three out of six numbers in the first game, and I always received the $1.0 check in the mail about a month later. But I have not played "Free Lotto" for some time. I started having problems with more pop-ups,and when I set my AOL, to "no popups", the problem didn't improve. I seemed to be stuck indefinitely one one page.... I've noticed lately that I've been getting a lot more "spam" from their site. I've also frequently gotten the "won free gift" e-mails from them which I delete. Please tell me, is it true: "Free Lotto" is gone? They still have the site there, but it's an empty site, and no one has the possiblity of winning anything there anymore? I'd really like to know. I was thinking of trying it again..... And is there a NEW free lotto site that is reliable and legitimate? Could I please have the URL, if there is one? Thanks very much! :) Yours sincerely, Marti :)Marti :-) My Home Page (for Mozart fans): http://hometown.aol.com/martibur/myhomepage/profile.html Edited by - Mozart on 05/27/2004 10:52:42

Mozart, You are the 44th person, who wrote a post in this topic. Congrats.Do NOT play on Freelotto.com anymore. They don't pay your winnings anymore. Several members of this forum, weren't paid. Gin, one of our dear members won $300 and was NEVER paid. Alot of $1-winnings weren't paid either. Freelotto is blacklisted. At the new forum "ScamsAndSpams" we will soon publish a list of "honest" Free Lottos. Of course that list will be very short. Edited by - ErikAlbert on 05/27/2004 12:11:45

It's *possible* Freelotto still pays it's jackpot winners, but I'd bet not - since they don't pay one dollar winners anymore, I think it's very unlikely they're paying their insurance bills either. As for a big jackpot from a reliable, legitimate site (reliable anyway, and believed to be legitimate) I'd say: 1st Choice: www.iwinweekly.com ($300,000 jackpot) 2nd Choice: www.luckylottoweb.com ($50,000 jackpot (one of several)) 3rd Choice: Well, there really isn't a third choice anymore. |

"At the new forum "ScamsAndSpams" we will soon publish a list of "honest" Free Lottos. Of course that list will be very short."Thanks very much for the information, and also for the two legitimate free lottos! :) I won't play Free Lotto anymore at all. I wonder whether I should "delete" my membership, or just delete the "receive e-mails from our sponsors" option (which was required in order to be able to win). Since I won't be playing, I suppose the best thing would be to delete my membership. There is another lotto site which I play now and then - LuckySurf. The odds are very bad, since you have to hit seven direct numbers - is it out of 51? (I haven't played it for awhile.) Do you know if this is a legitimate site? And what about EZsweeps? I had played that site every day for years - but never won anything there. Thanks very much! :) Yours sincerely, Marti :-) My Home Page (for Mozart fans): http://hometown.aol.com/martibur/myhomepage/profile.html Edited by - Mozart on 05/27/2004 16:47:12

I have some catching up to do.........I just read page six of this thread, and I now wonder that when I delete my membership in Free Lotto, the spam that I have been getting from them will not cease; I'll still be getting it after the termination of my membership with them? Thanks again! Yours sincerely,Marti :-) My Home Page (for Mozart fans): http://hometown.aol.com/martibur/myhomepage/profile.html

P.S. I just bookmarked those two legitimate free lotto sites. :) The odds of winning, as in all lottos, are not good, but do you think that there is any chance of winning there? Has anyone actually won anything? Thanks very much! Yours sincerely,Marti :-) My Home Page (for Mozart fans): http://hometown.aol.com/martibur/myhomepage/profile.html

Not sure what I did, if I cancelled my membership or just said no more email (I thought that choice cancelled anyway). No intention of ever going back unless they get new management, so it didn't matter to me.Lucky Surf used to be legit (several years ago when I used to do them), very reliable and quick at sending out $5 Amazon gift certificates when you won. Then they changed to certs for half.com (which are automatic for first-timers anyway, or used ot be). Then the sponsors all became things you had to sign up for spam lists in order to play your ticket so that's when I quit. No idea if they'd actually pay out a jackpot but I doubt it. Ezsweeps: I see them mentioned fairly often at sweeps sites, asking if they're legit. The usual response is something like "I started with them three years ago and haven't won anything but the spam is unbelievable" and even people being told their entry was disqualified because it's common for a sweeps sponsor to not allow auto entries like theirs - apparently EZ doesn't care, they enter you for those anyway. Plus, it's real easy to have them enter you and you enter yourself without noticing they're doing it already and you get disqualified for double entries. I'd say they're a bad idea, do your own entries. |

Ref the post I skipped (while I was writing):I've won $5 from Iwinweekly a few times, somebody here posted about winning $500 and was paid fairly quickly. By the guestbook, a fair number of people have built up balances to the point of cashing out at LLW (probably a few people here have done that). I just won $3 yesterday there. As for the jackpots, no, no jackpots have been won at either site that I'm aware of - but look at how many tickets state lotteries sell before they have a winner and compare that to the number of players at either of those two sites. Really not a big shock that nobody has won yet.

About doing your own sweepstakes entrees: If you are not doing EZsweeps, where do you go to find all those entrees to do yourself? You know, other sites I used to do were Publishers Clearing House (once a day) and Reader's Digest Sweeps - They used to have two big lotto sweeps a year. Of course, there are only a few people who can actually win, but I believe that there are guaranteed winners, so these sweeps might still be legitimate. Do you think so? And there a few more I used to do. Two are hourly sweeps, and I doubt now that they are legitimate, and the other was SureLotto.com, and I don't think that one is legitimate either. The link didn't work a lot of the time. There are a few more I did regularly. One was CashBreak.com. Suffice to say, no one has ever won their big jackpot. I also did Webstakes.com. They also had a monthly instant lotto where you could technically win $35,000. Are these sites still running, and do you think that any of them are legitimate? Thanks very much again! :-) Yours sincerely, Marti :-) My Home Page (for Mozart fans): http://hometown.aol.com/martibur/myhomepage/profile.html Edited by - Mozart on 05/27/2004 17:49:41

P.S. The instant lotto I used to do was Webstakes.comScratch4CashInstantWinGame I wonder if this is legitimate. And CashBreak.com was another one I frequently played. I played it often because the odds seemed better than most other lottos. The pages were slow to load though, and I do wonder about its legitimacy........ I tried to unsubscribe from all the Free Lotto spam mailings. The profile page wouldn't let me change these settings. When I clicked on to the page to confirm the update, the checkmark to unsubscribe from the Free Lotto mailings was always gone - so I am still subscribed to this spam. How do I get "unsubscribed" from it? Thanks! :-)Marti :-) My Home Page (for Mozart fans): MOZART'S FAVORITE SISTER-IN-LAW, SOPHIE WEBER HAIBL: LETTERS OF AN EIGHTEENTH CENTURY WOMAN: http://hometown.aol.com/martibur/ |

The thread of never-ending questions: I have one for you - what are the 3rd and 4th place gc's from lucky surf, and are their banners still signups or just ad-views?As for freelotto, I'd say try cancelling your membership then. If not, try spam complaints with spamcop - put in the comments box something like "ignores unsubscribe requests". Cashbreak used to be legit, back when you could cash in for small amounts. After they changed that to lotto entries I had my doubts so quit but can;t say for sure. Hotcashlotto is the same - used to be legit but then I got my suspicions going, nothing I can put my finger but I quit them as well. Webstakes - I used to do them, including the scratchoffs - I think I won $5 from that once, $50 or $100 from some other contest. I think they're probably still legit but considering it takes about 20 "enter me's" for each of their contests to be fully entered, the bad odds (lots of people really do enter 20 times a day for each prize) it just isn;t worth the time. |
