I'm wondering if anyone out there has sent in the $31? I'm curious to know if they ever send you the necklace, but not curious enough to send in the $$ myself (or to suggest that anyone else should, scammers should be discouraged, not rewarded). I hope if someone who got gyped and is looking around the web for info on the company and finds our site, they will take time to respond and let us know what you got, how long it took, etc. They must be quite successful, because I used to get this e-mail several years ago - I think 5 - 10 years or so. It was DEFINATELY the same thing, although knowing what I do of how these things work, they've probably had to change names & addresses - scammers generally have to uproot and find new bases frequently. Although maybe not - they seem to go to qute a bit of trouble to keep within the letter of the law. The letter says it's a promotion, not a lottery or drawing, so they're entitled to charge shipping ($31? not illegal, just unusual). It also does say, if you read carefully, what you actually won. They may be able to defend their 'promotion' enough that even though it's a rip-off, it may be a legal one. (Sigh. You can't outlaw lack of greed or make laws based on common sense.)

You decide... With close to 3700 people viewing this topic area since it started - how many people have had the initial feeling that this is a scam? You know what this reminds me of??? GroupLotto.com and their fake crap scams from a few years ago. Get "free Stuff" - "Just Pay the Shipping".If you are that screwed up not to know that this is a scam - go ahead and pay the $31.95 and feel happy that you are being laughed at by the people who run their scam - and please enjoy your $5.00 exclusive Diamond collection. How fricking gullible can you be? Of course, they are still around... as long as there are people as stupid as that, there will always be scams like this. Enjoy... Why not give us $5 or $10 as a donation instead... We are a much better cause than that...

I was a mailman for 19 years and I must have delivered 100's of thousands of scams like this through the regular mail before the Postal Inspectors started cracking down on them. Now, of course, they have found a much cheaper and easier method to deliver their crap to unsuspecting, naive, gullible people. No, this is not a new scam, just a new way to send it out. From paper thin postcards to email. I was a supervisor for 5 years and you would not believe some of the things people fall/go for. If they send out to a million people and just 10% fall for it that is $3,195,000.00. Not a bad return on a couple hundred bucks.D'Rat |

HipLotto is also doing actually a "Free Stuff - Just Pay the Shipping" if you have 3 of 5 numbers correct.

How many (new) internet-users really know that the internet is also used for criminal activities ? How many (new) internet-users are able or interested to find information about these criminal activities ? Depending on your own intelligence and internet knowledge/experience, it can take months/years before you get suspicious. This scam is based on a personal approach by email, so there is no more information than that and you are alone. Most people don't even talk about it, when they are trying something new on the internet. Internet payments are easy, you just need your credit card, while you feel comfortable at home and $31.95 isn't that much and certainly not risky. How many cheated people are willing to admit they were cheated ? Nobody likes to be considered as an idiot. I guess this kind of scam can run forever until everybody knows it's a scam. I received an email subject: "Notification of Unclaimed Parcel" claiming I've won a 61" Sony Projection TV. Advising shipping is paid by Shipper. But, they ask for $31.95 US dollars for a release fee?? To be paid by Visa or cheque sent to IMAC, Hicksville, NY. PlasmaNet Inc. PO Box 4562, Grand Central Station, NY is also mentioned. Does anyone have any information on this organization? Also, I live in Canada and do not know what US duty I have to pay on free lottos? Thank for any info you can give me, Frank B.

fateh still thinks he won a prize and is too poor to pay the $31.95. He wants one of us to pay it for him in exchange for a prayer and a blessing... any takers? Come on... There has to be someone in these forums that wants to help him get his prize - Who'll it be?hehe

Spud, Thanks for spelling it out for me. I thought fateh already paid the $31.95. Sometimes it's hard for me to translate broken English with spelling errors. Jesus Christ, this scam is getting complicated LOL.Fateh, Here is THE solution : Play daily on this website http://www.luckylottoweb.com/ and wait until your account is $40.00. Meanwhile you can read our posts about the 61 TV and find out that this is a fraud. If you don't believe us you still can use the $40.00 to pay the $31.95 to get your 61 TV. You can keep the rest of the money for other expenses in Pakistan. If you do believe us you will have $40.00 and you will be the richest man in your village. You don't have to pray for me, because I'm not a religious man. ErikAlbert Edited by - ErikAlbert on 03/28/2004 16:51:04

Walt, I don't know who these people are. Is that important ? Are you planning to summon them or send them a threathening email LOL ? You cann't exterminate these people. Crime is a part of life. Ill weeds grow apace. I leave it up to people, who are more qualified than me to catch these scammers. I just report the email to warn people and that's it. As always "Don't spend any money on the net and you will never become a victim."P.S. : Today, I received the same email again.

I wonder why they changed the fee of $31.95 into $31.67. Maybe this is a scam with a coupon. That's jd3's specialty. Edited by - ErikAlbert on 03/30/2004 16:48:56

The people behind this scam are located at 6 Commercial Street Hicksville NY 11801 USA Which is about 15 minutes from where I live. I think I'll go visit them tommorow and see what the deal is.

OK gibber09. I was just wondering why you didn't mention a NAME of a person or a company.
