For about 2 years now I have been receiving this email from Freelotto stating that I have won $5000.00 in their Click-To-Win game and I will forfiet my winnings if I do not claim them immediately. First of all, I have never played the Click-To-Win game so how could I have won anything and second of all, it makes me laugh to think that anyone, let alone a free internet lottery would continue for such a period of time trying to give me or anyone else $5000.00 in winnings. I have always been curious though, just how much would it cost me to claim this $5000.00. What a joke.D'Rat
You have not correctly read their emails. The $5,000 are not real money that you have won at Click-To-Win, but it's only virtual money (chips) to start going to play there. It's exactly the same than the bonus offered by the virtual casinos. Once you are registered there, you won't anymore receive this email. So that cost nothing to you to claim them, and that cost something to FreeLotto/Click-to-Win only if you won something with them. Edited by - JeanMi on 01/23/2004 22:38:53 |

QUOTE: "Second, PlasmaNet/FreeLotto is not the originator of the fraud. They have only been paid by someone to send this publicity to all their registered players."by JeanMi. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What!! PlasmaNet/FreeLotto uses their own registered players list to forward scams from companies that pay PlasmaNet/FreeLotto to do so. If this is what they really do,I don't think they are a trustworthy lotto. They don't show respect to their own players by helping to rip them off.Is FreeLotto a reputable lotto site?

Hi JeanMi, Thank you for the explanation of the Freelotto/Click-To-Win, but I am fully aware of how this type of thing works. That was not my point. I was just trying to make the point of, like the virtual casinos, how much would it eventually cost "ME" to claim and play this $5000.00 "PRIZE". I have received at least 3 or 4 emails a day for approimately 2 years stating that I have won this. To me that "SCREAMS" fraud, scam you gotta be stupid to try this. I play Freelotto everyday and have won about $20 over nearly 4 years 1 or 2 bucks at a time and have always been paid. I will continue to play Freelotto as long as it exists but it just "IRKS" me to no end that, as traumer says, it is obvious that this site has no respect for it's members/players. traumer makes a "VERY STRONG" point that just how trustworthy is a site that will use it's player database to make money from a SCAM site such as Click-To-Win. 'Nuff said. lol D'Rat Edited by - DesertRat on 01/25/2004 19:51:39 |

I've also received the same junk from IMAC. Below was my reply to them. ..."I'll tell you what, since I don't need another TV, or anything else from the list, why don't you send me a cheque for US$2,741.88 and I PROMISE to send you the US$31.95 as soon as the cheque clears the bank. In fact, I'm SO HAPPY that I have WON, I PROMISE I'll send you 10 times the $31.95 for all the trouble you've taken to pick little old me as a winner! Oh boy, oh boy, I just CAN'T wait to receive my cheque!!! The money will come in real handy, and in time, too, 'cause I need a set of new dentures! And we all know how expensive those darn things are! Thank you so much!!!!"

Yes, this is most definitely a scam. No different than the junk mail that use to come in that would read "You have won one of these valueable prizes" and then they would list very expensive TV's, stereos, etc. However, if you go through the entire list you'll see cheap jewelry listed as well. I just received 2 of these emails today and had been ignoring them. I decided to click on the 'Claim Prize' button and if you read the whole message, they give you a prize code. You can then click on a link and use that prize code to determine what you will be sent if you provide them with the 30 some odd dollars. Guess what? My prize would have been some cheap ass jewelry. I'm sure there are people that have been suckered by this already. Hell, when I was young and received these offers in the ordinary mail, I was suckered. But I was suckered only once. Sent in my fee and received a worthless black unpolished stone.

For the "Notification of Unclaimed Parcel" claiming I've won a 61" Sony Projection TV. Advising shipping is paid by Shipper. It's a scam, so you think you'll get big tv, but it say's on the right side at claim: "Consignees are advised that the parcel contents descrined herein were pre-determinde by specific criteria; consignees may tetermine parcel contents in advanced by consulting the information listed on the terms & conditions" so if you click "consignee: click to claim" button, you will get paymet info, there look at "2. Type your name below to verify and accept delivery of Package No. 552584" And if you click FAQ, and go to botom of page and click link "Click here to find out which exciting and valuable product will be yours!!" then you can verify at Package No. 552584 is actually Paretti Diamond Jewelry Collection may be worth of 5$ if you even get it..

hjaaskel, Thanks for the info and it's indeed a scam, but not a very clever one. My advice : never spend money on the internet, because it's NOT safe and you will never be a victim of any fraud.
